NAIVAISHA, Kenya, March 14 – The enthralling WRC Safari Rally Kenya 2026 is set for a spectacular conclusion on Sunday, with the world-famous Hell’s Gate National Park providing the scenic backdrop.
Day 4’s schedule features the shortest day of the 19-stage rally, with just two sections repeated twice.
The second pass of Hell’s Gate will serve as the wildly popular Wolf Power Stage from 1315H (+3GMT) where the top 5 WRC Rally 1 stars will battle it out for additional championship points.
Last year’s Power Stage was won by Adrien Fourmaux who returned in 2026 on the wheel of a Hyundai Shell Mobis WRT car having previously driven for Ford M-Sport Puma WRT.
The Hell’s Gate stage is notorious for its challenging terrain, with sudden weather changes often turning the route into a water-filled and muddy challenge.
“It’s a tricky stage,” explained Clerk of the Course George Mwangi.
“The drivers will need to be on top of their game if they want to come out on top.”
The final day’s action kicks off with SS17 Oserengoni 1 at 0809H, followed by the first run of Hell’s Gate at 0935H.
The afternoon drive will see crews tackle the stages again, with the second run of Hell’s Gate serving as the Power Stage.
The closing podium ceremony is scheduled to take place at 2:15pm, with the winner’s trophy to be presented on-site by Chief Guest and Kenyan President William Ruto.
No Service Park
And for the first time since the return of WRC Safari back to Kenya in 2021, the last day will run minus midday service on the last day.
“For Sunday, we only have two stages, Oserengoni and Hell’s Gate.
“The major change for Sunday is that the cars are not going back to service. After Hell’s Gate 1, the cars go to Oserengoni and come to regroup at Hell’s Gate,” Mwangi stated.
“This decision is informed by the issue of traffic along Moi South Lake Road, and going back through Moi North Lake road is 72 km.
“It’s such a long way just going for 15 minutes of service. Because of that, we opted for the cars not to go back to service,” the Clerk of Course expounded.
