Nairobi, Kenya: The Football Kenya Federation (FKF), in collaboration with betting firm SportPesa, has heralded an exciting chapter in Kenya’s football landscape with the official launch of the 2025/26 SportPesa League season.
This highly anticipated tournament is set to commence on September 20, 2025, promising to showcase the best talents and teams in Kenyan football.
With a remarkable prize money pool of Ksh 20 million (USD154,799 current value), the competition aims to elevate the stakes for all participating clubs. The champions of the league will be awarded Ksh 15 million (USD 116,099 current value), while the runners-up will take home Ksh 3 (USD 23,220) million. In recognition of their hard work, the third-place team will receive Ksh 2 million (USD 15,480). This financial incentive not only rewards excellence but also motivates teams to strive for greatness.

For the next decade, the Kenya Premier League will proudly bear the name of its title sponsor, becoming the SportPesa League. This partnership signifies a robust commitment to enhancing the football experience in Kenya, with clubs benefiting significantly from a generous sponsorship deal worth Ksh 51 million (USD 394,737). Teams will now share 60% of this amount, ensuring that clubs have the necessary resources to bolster their operations throughout the season.
To add to the excitement, the league will also introduce a Player of the Month award, celebrating outstanding performers and their contributions to the beautiful game.
An end-of-season gala will further highlight the achievements of the best players, coaches, and teams, culminating in a memorable celebration of football in Kenya.
